The program is hosted at the University of Saskatchewan Health Sciences Building (107 Wiggins Ave, Saskatoon, SK)
The room that the program is hosted in regularly changes depending on availability. We send out a room confirmation email + a detailed map on how to access the room prior to each session.
The program takes place Saturday mornings from 11am - 2pm. We are currently preparing our educational programming and recruiting mentors for the 2024-2025 academic year. We previously ran the program from March - May 2024, and we hope to re-launch in Jan-Feb 2025
The first half of each session is dedicated to tutoring. Mentors and mentees will meet and begin working on mentee directed tasks (i.e., homework, assignments, studying for an upcoming test, etc.,). If there are extra mentors, they will act as "roaming tutors", moving between mentor-mentee pairs as needed. This part of our program is a great opportunity to get to know your mentor/mentee and discuss career/education related planning and topics.
Following the first portion of our sessions, we serve lunch, then have our educational workshop. Our workshops are delivered by one of our mentors or a guest speaker and consist of topics related to career/educational planning.
Past workshop topics have included "From High School to Medical School - The process behind applying to Medical School", "How Study Strategies change in University", and "Financial Planning for University and Beyond". Our workshops are geared towards student interests - if there's a topic you want to hear about, let us know on our sign-up form!
We match students and tutors based on mutual interests and academic needs. If you are a tutor or a student who has a known preference for a particular tutor/student, please let us know in the sign-up form
All High School Students in the Saskatoon area are welcome to join our program. There is no cost and parking/bus vouchers are offered upon request

Mentors must be undergraduate, graduate, or professional college students at the University of Saskatchewan. We pride ourselves on having mentors from an incredible range of academic and personal backgrounds.
Mentors should have a genuine interest in building productive, motivational and collegial relationships with mentees and their fellow mentors, as well as the ability to tutor at least one core academic subject up to the Grade 11 level. Previous mentorship or tutoring experience is helpful, but not mandatory by any means
